To expand the horizon and reach out to many more lives within and beyond the shores of Nigeria, the dream of setting up a foundation was first conceived in 2018, out of a burning compassion that signifies “grass to grace”, as he desires to add value to the lives of young youths. As a man of principle, he believes ardently that ‘you should give back to the society which helps you thrive’ and is a dedicated philanthropist at all levels: He donates regularly for the Port Harcourt University Clinic and for several orphanages in Nigeria. Most notably, as the founder and president of the ‘Daere Afonya-a Akobo Foundation,’ he is currently leading projects which aim at linking local communities to the world and providing the youth with the skills and the resources to change their future. Additionally, he is an addicted lover of God and has been instrumental in the construction of Salvation Ministries church, Eliozu and Borokiri in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, Nigeria, with more to be built in future. Sensitive to the importance of education, Daere seeks to impart knowledge and motivate young aspiring professionals, by donating to the Rivers State University, organizing site visits to PE Energy’s headquarters, offering internships to graduate students, and by providing linkage between the academia and the oil and gas industry. He is happily married and blessed with four children.
